Vince Workout: None : (
Did you know some foods you may eat contain GMOs! GMOs are very harmful to your body! GMOs are genetically modified foods. Why would you want to eat food with pesticides in them? Pesticides are poisons.
Many countries report GMOs as being unsafe for consumption!
I know that in some countries the products must specify it on the food labels if they contain GMOs. That is not the case in America. Some are working toward trying to make this happen.
READ....READ....READ
Currently commercialized GM crops in the U.S. include soy (94%), cotton (90%), canola (90%), sugar beets (95%), corn (88%), Hawaiian papaya (more than 50%), zucchini and yellow squash (over 24,000 acres).
Other Sources of GMOs:
- Dairy products from cows injected with the GM hormone rbGH
- Food additives, enzymes, flavorings, and processing agents, including the sweetener aspartame (NutraSweet) and rennet used to make hard cheeses (aspartame is in a lot of yogurts!)
- Meat, eggs, and dairy products from animals that have eaten GM feed (so buy organic!)
- Honey and bee pollen that may have GM sources of pollen
- Contamination or pollination caused by GM seeds or pollen
Some of the Ingredients That May Be Genetically Modified: Vegetable oil, vegetable fat and margarines (made with soy, corn, cottonseed, and/or canola) (unless you buy organic)
Ingredients derived from soybeans: Soy flour, soy protein, soy isolates, soy isoflavones, soy lecithin, vegetable proteins, textured vegetable protein (TVP), tofu, tamari, tempeh, and soy protein supplements. (even in our vitamins)! Check out the labels.
Ingredients derived from corn: Corn flour, corn gluten, corn masa, corn starch, corn syrup, cornmeal, and High-Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS).
The text in blue is from http://www.responsibletechnology.org/gmo-basics/gmos-in-foodTo me this all means that organic food will be much better for us. Read the labels when grocery shopping. Buying Certified Organic foods means that the animals ate organic food as well. If the animals are not eating organic food, then you don't want to eat them. I know it is hard, but I think it is worth it to try your best to stay away from foods with GMOs.

Vince and I ate lunch a healthy joint called "A Moveable Feast." Vince ate soup with kale, carrots, broccoli, tofu and cabbage. He didn't eat the bread.

We shared some avacado with organic blue corn chips (hoping they were organic anyway) and I ate the vegetarian chili with bread.

Shopped at Kroger today and wanted these corn dogs! I always want corn dogs, but never buy them. Unless corn is organic you don't want to eat it at all! Has GMOs!

Making dinner. Wish I would've been fixed up or my kitchen was clean, but this is real life. It is what it is. Trying to make a healthy lasagna, but found it difficult. Did my best.

Cheese ingredients. My rule is to not get food if it has ingredients that I don't understand. I caved in on this one. Try not to eat processed food. Not sure how to make lasagna without the cheese.

I'm okay with the canned tomato ingredients. Only tomatoes, tomato puree, salt and citric acid.

Salad with our lasagna. Greens, carrots, tomato, raisins, walnuts, little goat cheese, olive oil and apple cider vinegar, water
